I would really like to know why it is a problem to have an external link to a freeware software for genograms, like WinGeno. I thought this is what an external link is all about. Instead, there are tons of links and pictures about a commercial program like GenoPro. Is this a monopoly? What about free market and free mind? Readers of this article might come to the conclusion that there is only one program. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.148.81.11 (talk) 20:26, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sources

[edit]

You had better check your sources. Murray Bowen, Family Systems Psychotherapy, first intrduced the genogram as early as 1978. This information is widely accepted and part of national counselor and psychotherapy examinations.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.17.26.4 (talk) 18:39, 2008 January 7 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Unclepaul1.png

[edit]

Image:Unclepaul1.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Balance between psychology & genetics use?

[edit]

I wonder whether it would be helpful to edit this article to improve its coverage of genogram use in genetics and medicine more generally? At the moment the focus seems to be weighted towards the psychological uses. Docben (talk) 10:09, 30 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
