Comment re death
[edit]I have added (to the best of my ability, would welcome helpful tidying of format) a citation to an Italian newspaper online article against mention of his death. I note he is categorised as 'Italian military personnel killed in World War II' but his Italian wikipedia article gives no indication of military service. His death coincided with Allied preparatory bombings of Sicily aimed mainly at German/Italian air force facilities prior to the Allied invasion of Sicily. If he was military he would surely have mention on Italy's war graves website hosted by the Italian Ministry of Defence.Cloptonson (talk) 09:06, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
- I have discovered on an article linked to one of his clubs (Italian wikipedia) he was aboard a train "packed with soldiers" when he was killed in an Allied strafing. Still unclear if he was a soldier himself or a civilian who happened to be in the train.Cloptonson (talk) 06:39, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
