Hi, this article is very brief and incomplete. I've put together some suggestions for updating it:

General Matter is a California-based nuclear energy startup, enriching uranium for nuclear fuel. It was founded in 2024 to make both high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU) and low-enriched uranium (LEU). In August 2025, the company signed a lease with the United States Department of Energy to establish the nation’s first U.S.-owned, privately developed uranium enrichment facility, located at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Kentucky.

I've made a minor change, so that the article states just facts, and not imply a causal relationship between "not disclosing" and other things. Regarding the weaponizing matter, I know it is a general problem for others in the nuclear industry (only very naive people will still cling to the notion that nations like the US, Russia, China, France etc like nuclear purely because nuclear is cheap, clean energy), but Nolan did address that concern directly on behalf of his company, then I feel that is a reason to let it stand. History

General Matter was founded in 2024 by former SpaceX engineer and Founders Fund partner Scott Nolan, who also serves as CEO. Based in Los Angeles, the company is comprised of a team of engineers, nuclear scientists, and safety professionals.

In October 2024, General Matter was one of four companies to receive a procurement contract from the United States Department of Energy to produce high-assay low-enriched uranium (HALEU). Two months later, in December, General Matter was one of six companies to receive a procurement contract from the Department of Energy to produce low-enriched uranium (LEU).

In April 2025, the company raised $50 million in a venture capital funding round. Peter Thiel joined the board as part of the agreement.

In August 2025, the company signed a lease with the United States Department of Energy to build a $1.5 million facility at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.

Thanks for your work here, Deamonpen. I've reviewed all your additions and wanted to discuss a couple points:

• The History section implies that Scott Nolan left Founders Fund, but he's actually still a partner there, as stated in current references 1, 4, and 6. Would you please reword the second sentence in the paragraph to reflect this, and delete the fourth sentence which says he left Founders Fund?
• In the last three paragraphs of Mission and technology, there are some details taken from the sources which don't seem in line with WP:UNDUE and WP:EXCESSDETAIL, such as: quotes from the company regarding its technologies, a point about licensing from rivals, and arguments from critics of HALEU, which are more general and not necessarily related to the company specifically. It is said that Nolan "will focus on General Matter", so I will change to that. I have just checked back FF website and he is still there too (but they are already recruiting/training new partners, it seems).

Thank you, Deamonpen! There is still some detail in Mission and technology which doesn't seem to belong:

• The last paragraph of the section relates to critics of HALEU and isn't relevant to General Matter itself. Would you please remove it?
• The third to last paragraph of the section (which begins "Although the firm...") has details and direct quotes which are speculative at this point and therefore less relevant for the article. Would you consider updating it to read:

Although the firm describes its technology as "novel" and "scalable", sSpecific details about the company's enrichment process have not yet been publicly disclosed. Nolan only disclosed that, like SpaceX, the firm is "going back to first principles."
