Three of the sources in the current version (permalink - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gene_Stuart&oldid=807678144) are all obits/news of his death, and the remaining one is about the Mighty Avons. I think there's enough for notability here, but I think some earlier sources and/or sources that are not related to his death would help. I couldn't find much online, but as his work is pretty much pre-Internet, perhaps there are some offline sources out there? Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:01, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I might get some information on them also for a new article, my mothers attic is a treasure trove for bits and pieces like this, both bands and singers were huge in Ireland in the 70's when I was a teenager - as you say long before internet! XyzSpaniel Talk Page14:16, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
