Hello Wikipedia, my name is Melis and I would like to present a suggestion for this article. Currently, it only has a History section in addition to the normal lead and infobox. The sources used need to be updated generally to remove the old archive links and there are several instances of poor sourcing, including MarketScreener, a Forbes contributor piece, several press releases.

I would like to present editors with an updated version of this article in my User space. For easy review, here is a diff between my proposal and the current article.

My proposal updates the sources when possible and adds news sections including Operations, Production, and Research. Some of the information in the History section was moved to the more appropriate section.

Hi Melis for GenScript, thank you for proposed changes to the article. It helped me identify vandalism that had been unfixed in the article for months. However, it is quite difficult to assess wholesale article changes in a userspace article draft, and even though there is a diff included, it makes it hard to see specific section-by-section changes. For example, your draft of the article removes information currently in the article such as "In 2004, it set up a research and production base in Nanjing, China." and "In 2015, GenScript went public on the SEHK." without offering rationale for why this information should be removed. If you had something section-by-section (e.g. lead, infobox, history, etc.) highlighting removals, changes, and additions with rationale, it would make it much easier for impartial editors to review this request rather than having to closely scrutinize which information may have been removed without clear explanation. Operations section

Per User:Spencer's request, I have taken the diff above and broken out a smaller request from it. I would like to focus on the proposed Operations section first, since it is all additions.

Draft:

GenScript is headquartered in Piscataway, New Jersey. It established presences in the United States, China, Singapore, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, among others.

GenScript's operations are divided into life-science services and products, biologics CDMO, and industrial enzymes.

The company was founded by Frank Zhang, Sally Wang, and Larry Wang. As of 2026, leadership included Robin Meng, chairman; Sherry Shao, rotating CEO; and Ray Chen, Life Science Group president. Its scientific advisory board includes George Church, Carl June, and David R. Liu, as of 2026.

GenScript has operations in over 100 countries and over 250,000 customers, as of 2025. That year, its revenue was $959.5 million and it had over 6,165 employees.

@Amigao: I see what you mean. What about phrasing such as, "GenScript has principal offices in Nanjing, China and Piscataway, New Jersey"?

That is not very clear. The parent company is headquartered in China, which is the topic of this article. The New Jersey operations are run by the U.S. subsidiary. - Amigao (talk) 21:12, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

Some thoughts: 1. The Lianhe Zaobao source is solid, but the link is now dead. You'll need to add an archived version to the citation. 2. Having reviewed their about pages and editorial policy, GEN appears to be a trade publication and not a reliable source. 3. I cannot find any editorial policy for Fierce Pharma, so I am also uncertain that it is a reliable source. 4. I don't see how the list of current leaders or advisory board members is due for inclusion; none of it is cited to independent, reliable sources. 5. I would condense the last paragraph down to "As of 2025, GenScript had a revenue of $959.5 million and over 6,165 employees." The other information does not seem relevant. @Melis for GenScript I have partially implemented this edit request, integrating the proposed text with the existing text as needed. The portions I did not include were mainly left out due to sourcing concerns. Update infobox

Hello editors. While the post above is being considered, I would like to make a simple request to replace the infobox with the one below. The difference between the two are as follows:

• Expands "industries" to be comprehensive
• Adds founding location and number of years
• Corrects the founder's names with sourcing
• Clarifies CEO's position as "rotating"
• Adds "Area served", "Services", "Revenue", "Number of employees" and "Subsidiaries"

As a note, I kept the website as the official URL template so it won't display properly here, but it is in use already on the page so it will work.

History Section

Hello editors, I would like to suggest updated content be added to this article in the "History" section. This includes the following:

• Replace "In 2011, the company opened a subsidiary in Japan. In 2013, it established Bestzyme." with "In 2014, the unit Legend Biotech was founded. "

• this uses a better source and updates the text in alignment with that source

• Replace, "In the same year, Genscript collaborated with Duke-NUS Medical School to develop and manufacture a serology test called cPass for the detection of COVID-19.[26] On November 6, the cPass test received emergency use authorization from the US FDA." with "After the COVID-19 pandemic began, GenScript collaborated with Duke-NUS Medical School to develop a way to test for antibodies in a person that could neutralize the coronavirus. On November 6, the cPass test received emergency use authorization from the United States Food and Drug Administration."

• this uses a better source and updates the text in alignment with that source

• Add, "GenScript opened a 50,000-square-foot facility near its New Jersey headquarters in 2021 for developing new vaccines. Their cell and gene therapy manufacturing facility became the company's first automated plant in the country. In 2022, it opened a protein and gene manufacturing facility in Singapore."

Not done: The first change suggested here has been made unnecessary by my other edits. The second suggested change is overly promotional in nature, replacing neutral language with language that inflates the beneficial impact of the company's actions.
