Fifteen million litres of sewage?

Section 'Sewage Treatment Works' states the works 'discharges up to 15 Ml of water per day into the river'. I would trust the original author of the section intended 'ml' or 'mL' rather than 'Ml' (megalitres; million litres) but unable to confirm myself without access to the source (it is behind a paywall).
