Makes Rogan sound like historical person

   I found

The film depicts the events of October 25, 1986 in the life of Nicky Rogan, specifically the opening of his latest play juxtaposed with Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, with a screenplay that Don DeLillo wrote in 1991.

and i was annoyed with myself for not being able to place Rogan. And damn: no link to his article! Oh, that's because he's a fictchar.
   I don't think that happened just bcz the film i saw tonite was 95% historical; the specific date and the lk to the real-world Series are details that are mixed in one sentence IMO with effect of unacceptably obscure the line between fiction with historical characters, and fiction with fictional characters deeply affected by historical events.
   Here's my try at doing more (not just failure to link the character to a WP article) to clarify what (i assume) constitutes that boundary:

Its fictional playwright, Nicky Rogan, has a stage play opening on the day of the sixth game of the 1986 World Series.

Or (if October 25, or that day of 1986, has a significance that requires -- not just offers the screenwriter the option -- to specify the date) insert that much of the date in place of, or just before, "the day of".
   Now, i don't know jack about the film or the game (unless it was the "and the ball rolls between the fielder's legs" one), and i hope someone who does know jack will note here whether i've blown it or not.

Euphemism in Plot Section

I admit to taking a pass at this article on a suggestion, and I noticed the following

"Rogan not only finds the critic but sees him in the early stages of deflowering the playwright's daughter."

Given WP:EUPHEMISM, I feel this should be rewritten. However, as someone who has never watched this movie and probably never will, I am unsure of what the original plot is and should be rewritten to. Megashinysnivy (talk) 17:14, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
