[edit]Since everything under this name is referring to GMP synthetase rather than GMP synthase, I made a new page called GMP synthetase to clear things up. Theutbk (talk) 01:11, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Moving to the new name appears reasonable to me (though I could easily be mistaken; I know little of chemistry). However, the way you did it is not. Copying and pasting text into a new page and then requesting that the old page be deleted loses all of the page history and violates Wikipedia's licensing terms. The correct way to do it is either to just move the page, or to use Wikipedia:Requested moves to suggest that it be moved. A few points
[edit]Given its name, I'm assuming this enzyme hydrolyzes ATP during the course of its reaction. You might mention that in the article. Also, you might consider rewriting this so it is not a verbatim copy of the Entrez gene entry. It might also be a good idea to use some of the external links as references instead.
Also, is this enzyme the same as this one: GMP synthase (glutamine-hydrolysing)? Or is there a larger family of enzymes we could group together and make subsections perhaps? Regards, Pdcook (talk) 14:27, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- According to :the nomenclature the accepted name was the original title and this is indeed identical to GMP synthase (glutamine-hydrolysing), I've merged and redirected. Tim Vickers (talk) 20:09, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
