M-122 designation
[edit]I do not think it is correct that the designation AGM-112 was not assigned because "This was declined because the weapon was an unpowered glide bomb and GBU designation was allotted instead. The M-112 designation remains unassigned as a result.[2]"
The M-112 designation was assigned to the 12,000lb TARZON guided bomb used in the Korean War. The 12,000lb warhead was the famous Tallboy bomb used during WWII. It is probably more correct to suggest that the designation had already been assigned.
