Purpose
[edit]Can it be described why you wouldn't just raise the height of the crest of the dam? It would seem to me that the only reason you'd add a "collapsible" part of the dam is for cost reasons. Why would you build a part of the dam to be lost, otherwise? Also, is there no seepage with the kind of plug featured on this page? Criticalthinker (talk) 10:29, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
