Term as governor

[edit]

From the article as it stands now:

During his term, he set the foundations for the state's turnpike system, began the Florida reforestation program, quality control programs on Florida's citrus crops were instituted, and new laws were established which forbade cattle to wander freely.

Two relates problems -- one style, one content. 1) Style-wise, the parallel structure breaks down for the third and fourth items. The first two entries are, "During his term, he set...[he] began." But "he" doesn't gramatically fit before "quality control" or "and new laws." The paragraph could be rewritten as

"During his term, he set the foundations for the state's turnpike system, began the Florida reforestation program, instituted quality control programs on Florida's citrus crops, and established new laws which forbade cattle to wander freely.

However, this leads to the second problem 2) Which of these things did Warren *do*, and which of these things did he help along or simply happened during his term. The phrasing as it stands now is unclear and I'm no expert. EEMeltonIV 04:58, 3 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

If by Whiskey speech

[edit]

This speech was in fact given by Noah S. Sweat, hence I've deleted it from here. See here: If-by-whiskey for details and sources on how it came to be misattributed to Fuller Warren. alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 17:43, 8 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
