Conflicting reports of program's discontinuation
[edit]Within the past couple of weeks, there have been conflicting reports from reputable sources, with some stating that Apple will exit their current arrangement with MLB and cancel the Friday Night Baseball program, while others state that Apple will retain the program as currently contracted. Upon learning of the latter from editor @Zzyzx11, I added back mentions of both reports, as I feel that these conflicting reports, as they are both from similarly reputable sources, should both be mentioned until a more definitive announcement is made by an involved party. 42-BRT (talk) 00:47, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- The only report that Apple will be discontinuing is from a Yahoo! reporter who seemingly walked back their report here. Doesn't seem notable enough to mention, in my opinion. Esolo5002 (talk) 01:14, 28 August 2025 (UTC)
- Like WP:RSBREAKING, in the long run such reports and rumors are no substitute for an official announcement from MLB if they indeed are opting-out of Apple's contract with still a year remaining, especially if that same original reporter later walked back or retracted their report.
