Regarding this quote: "Meal penalties are monetary compensation that are incurred every half hour after the six-hour deadline until a meal break is given ... " Meal penalty increments are determined by union contracts signed by productions. Each union and/or local in each locality has different rules. I.E. IATSE locals in Toronto, Ontario use 6 minute increments for meal penalties and overtime. "Every half hour" is not a universal rule across all areas and unions.
