I edited the page free union because free union is referred to in both the Catechism of the Catholic Church and Familiaris Consortio as being a union between two individuals that lacks any legal, civil, or religious recognition. Should the material in this article be merged into another article? This page used to redirect to Free Union, Virginia. I have undone the redirection because I have done a search for Free Union in Wikipedia and I encounter Free Union, Virginia when I really wanted information about a union between two individuals that lacks any publicly recognized bond. Does the content in this page belong in another page? Jplatts 17:28, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think the Catholic position on Free Unions should be put into a separate section, something with a title like "criticism" or "R. Catholic View," etc. Peppering bits from the catechism throughout the article tends to make it choppy. It would read better if these quotations were addressed in a separate section.
