Article Updates September 2026

[edit]

Hi! I’m an employee of Franklin University, and have a few suggestions to help update the Wikipedia page. I have a conflict of interest, and understand Wikipedia’s policy regarding conflict of interest edits to pages. I have consulted the extensive guide of the WikiProject on Higher Education (WP:UNIGUIDE), for among other things, the proper use of a university website as a reliable source. Thanks.

1. The lead has a few inaccuracies. I’ve updated it, adding that it was founded under YMCA sponsorship for working adults, and that it’s mostly an online school with a few on-site classes, with sources to support each sentence. I also updated the age of the average student. ''''Please update it from:''''

'Franklin University' is a private university with its main campus in Columbus, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1902 to serve the needs of students beyond traditional undergraduate age. On-site courses are offered at the university's campus in Columbus' Discovery District. However, most students take courses online. The university has over 25 location centers in the Midwestern United States[1] and a majority online population, and reports an average student age of 34 years.[2]

'to:'

'Franklin University' is a private university based in Columbus, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1902 under YMCA sponsorship to provide working adults with access to college education.[3] Courses are primarily offered online,[4] with some courses taught at the university's campus in Columbus' Discovery District.[5] The average age of students is 36.[6]

'2. In the History section, please update the first sentence in the fourth paragraph. The updated version clarifies the partnerships with schools overseas. I also added a missing citation. Please update it from:'

In 2009, the university began offering its MBA at the WSB Merito Universities in Poland.

'to:'

In 2009, the university partnered with universities in Poland and Macedonia on their MBA programs.[7]

'3.  In the History section, please update the second sentence in the fourth paragraph with the locations of partner schools, date, and missing citation. Please update it from:'

Since signing this agreement with WSB, Franklin has entered into educational agreements with educational institutions in eight other countries.

'to:'

As of 2026, Franklin had degree partnerships with 12 universities in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. [8]

'4. In the History section, the fourth paragraph is written in present tense, and appears to be word-for-word from the website. While auniversity website is generally allowable under WP:UNIGUIDE  I rewrote it so it is not plagiarized, changed to past tense, added dates, and condensed the information. I also put everything in chronological order. Please update it from:'

Today, Franklin University offers a broad range of undergraduate majors and graduate programs. Its enrollment includes more than 300 international students from more than 72 countries. More than 135 community colleges across the U.S. have partnered with Franklin University to ease the way for community college students to transfer the maximum number of community college credits toward completing a bachelor's degree at Franklin. Franklin's Community College Alliance Program.[9] allowed students to transfer academic credits from[10] 135 community colleges and technical schools in the US.[11] As of 2026, Franklin University supported international students from more than 60 countries, including the US.[12]
