Perhaps an article on the name Francesca would be more appropriate here? I can't image people typing in Francesca into the search box and wanting this result, some how. Deskana (talk page) 20:25, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Etymology
[edit]As I understand it, the name "Francesca" was coined after the time of Saint Francis (Giovanni Francesco Bernardone) seemingly as a simple feminine form of the masculine name. The saint received his name from the fact that his mother was French -- even the modern Italian word for the nationality is "francese". Could someone please supply a reputable source for the alternative etymology? Thanks. Ma dove sono gli Italiani quando c'e' il bisogno? -- spincontrol 21:30, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
