COI disclosure: 2026 FIFA World Cup section

[edit]

Hello. I work for Fox Corporation, and per WP:PAID my disclosure is on my user page. Earlier today I added a section documenting Fox One's 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage. I aimed to keep it strictly factual, sourced to a Fox Corporation press release for the schedule details and independent trade coverage from Marketing Dive for the rest. I recognize that direct editing with a conflict of interest is discouraged, so I would welcome review from uninvolved editors. Please trim, reword, or remove anything that reads as promotional; I will defer to consensus and will not reinstate removed material.

While reading the full article, I noticed a few pre-existing items I deliberately left alone given my COI, in case other editors want to address them:

  • Some pre-launch future tense remains in the lead and History sections ("will automatically allow access", "There will be no original nor exclusive content").
  • The phrase "ignoring Fox Now's previous existence" in the History section appears to be unsourced editorializing.
  • The "FOX One Now Available to Stream Across Web, Mobile and Connected TV Devices" press release is cited to support the July 2023 Fox Now shutdown, which it does not directly verify.
  • Editors may want to consider whether the World Cup coverage merits a brief mention in the lead; I will leave that judgment to others.

Happy to answer any questions. Ajn-seo (talk) 21:36, 12 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
