Unmarked seamount
[edit]According to various bathymetry maps and datasets (GEBCO data, ETOPO 2) there is a seamount, around 10 metres depth at the peak, at around 36.074 S 125.23 W. It is marked as Foundation Seamount (singular). It is not shown or mentioned in this article. Is it perhaps a data artefact? Ordinary Person (talk) 16:52, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- You may be referring to Zvezda Guyot (GEBCO ) which is south of GEBCO's mapping of the Foundation Sea Mounts. The mapping and naming source used in the article is Maia et al. 2001. Please be aware that the search function of the GEBCO gazetteer is presently broken in modern browsers. GEBCO names such as Akademic Kurchatoy fracture zone can be named differently in Maia et al. 2001 which uses the name Mocha fracture zone. ChaseKiwi (talk) 08:15, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
- That seamount seems to be a little off the Foundation track considering its latitude? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 12:58, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
