How to fother
[edit]The article contains "with a sail containing rope fibres" which suggests to me a sort of bag of fibres. I have always understood that fothering used canvas with yarns knotted through, as in a hairy rug; and my reading of the "Endeavour" article is that a hairy rug was made. 94.30.84.71 (talk) 20:07, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
