In the book I'm reading titled "Predicting The Unpredictable" by Susan Hough on page 176 it mentions that there was a Fort Pickering where Memphis, Tennessee is located today at the time of the New Madrid earthquake. So I typed that name into Wiki and it has this other Fort Pickering. At best perhaps this article should mention that the name Fort Pickering was used for other Forts, such as I know one or two other forts were used more than once. Thank-You!!! I'm a direct Pickering descendant and have taken recent interest in Fort Pickering, as I live nearby. I'm starting to build out this page to include a more comprehensive history and representation of the site. I will add references, attributions, etc. as time goes on - this is a work in progress and my first major wikipedia entry.
