Mention of Cost of Name Change

The cost of the name change from Ft. Bragg to Ft. Liberty is given as $6.3M. No cost is given for the change from Ft. Liberty to Ft. Bragg. That's irrelevant partisan politics and a violation of the NPOV rule on this site. In fact, even mentioning its short-lived name as Ft. Liberty is something that belongs in the history section and not in the opening paragraph. Seth Harp's Journalism/Notable Events Section

As has been briefly discussed in a past thread (regarding a Rolling Stone article), there has been an ongoing trend of unsolved murders and deaths at Fort Bragg which are potentially tied to drug trafficking. Seth Harp has written a book titled "The Fort Bragg Cartel" which is a reputable source, the contents of which may warrant a larger allotment on this page.

Further, the notable events section seems somewhat unnecessary, it is merely a listing of numerous events that is taking up too large a portion of this article. The events should be broken up and put into different categories, if they fit.

Harp is generally a reliable source though not an error-free one; from what I understand and what I've seen of interviews he's done promoting the book, it seems to be a bit fast and loose with its conclusions in ways that make me skeptical of the quality, but that's just my take and until we have reliable sources concurring with that opinion there's no reason to exclude it. The length of the Notable Events section doesn't seem problematic at all, and unless there's a specific size restriction you're referring to that I'm not aware of, I don't see any issues there. The more useful thing would be to convert it from a list format to in-line prose, which would largely address the need for the section in the first place, but the length is not the reason why. ⇒SWATJester ^{Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat!} 22:07, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
