Non-geographic numbers

[edit]

Does anyone have the information for migration of 008, 0055 numbers (to 1800 and 190x), operator numbers (such as 013 or 0176), mobile numbers (parts of 01x) and rare numbers. I heard of old satellite numbers in 007 and Optus special numbers in 009. Or other numbers? These things will be interesting to me. Lazybeam (talk) 03:51, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • The records that the Australian government and the ACMA have are really quite vague. In some cases, its a many-to-many changeover: for example, both 0055 and 1972 prefixes were ported to both the 1900 and 1902 number ranges. I could list the former prefixes for non-geographic services, but I can't write up how they changed with the same level of detail that there is for geographic numbering. Area code on 062 xxx xxx

[edit]

for some reason the Canberra region old area code is rendered here as (06) 2xx xxxx

When it was current we understood it as (062) xxx xxx and on local calls would only dial the six digits

This is the same as the neighbouring code (061) xxx xxx

I am updating the 062 numbers to be in pattern with the other numbers from the same time, as well as my own user experience reverted as the ref on the table for the area code is correct Psud (talk) 03:20, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
