Story
[edit]My friends and I used to climb down onto the top of the conrete piers once the bridge was completed. The state and federal government spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the Auburn dam project, the lake of which this bridge was to span. The dam footings can be seen further down the canyon and were actually poured. Location
[edit]No way is the bridge between Auburn and Georgetown, nor Auburn and Cool. The bridge, as the name implies, lies between Auburn and Foresthill on the North fork of the American river. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.231.202.58 (talk • contribs)

Retrofit?
[edit]There is some talk about how much it will cost to retrofit the bridge, but never states anything else about a retrofit. 'The' retrofit needs to be talked about in more depth, deleted or maybe rephrased. Entire text concerning 'the' retrofit is included below.

Source of T-1 Steel used in Foresthill Bridge
[edit]This article states: "It was fabricated in 1971 by Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan, built by Willamette Western Contractors, and opened in 1973." First, in "Foresthill Bridge in California - Another T-1 Mess?" at 7:32, Casey Jones has a question as to whether the steel was fabricated by US Steel instead of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Finally, the video states that there are concerns about the saftey of welds because of the use of T-1 steel in the construction of this bridge.
