Proposed merge of Nicholson McLaren V8 engine into Ford-Cosworth Indy V8 engine
[edit]As the article said, based on another engine. Also, this article is struggling for notability on its own. SpacedFarmer (talk) 22:50, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
No use of the DFX turbos in 1980s Group C?
[edit]Porsche had developed a flat-6 Indy-Engine for 1980, but it was given the same boost limit as any V8, making it inferior to the DFX. Porsche then converted it back to gas and biturbo, tested it successfully at 1981 Le Mans, and won numerous races in the Porsche 956 and 962 for years to come, up to 1998. Le Mans also saw numerous attempts to race naturally aspirated Cosworth DFV and versions thereof, but no turbo? Strange. Even Sauber-Mercedes had a turbo on the big V8 Mercedes-Benz M117 engine from the 500 SE road cars. ~2025-31183-77 (talk) 20:42, 25 November 2025 (UTC)
