Party of 45 Cheraw Natives participating on the British side?

I encountered a source that a party of 45 of the near extinct Cheraw under the Catawba under a native leader called "King Johnny" fought with the English during this expedition. However this 1906 source indicates that this group indicated that these 45 joined the expedition in 1759. Should we include this source, but presume that the source was mistaken and actually met 1758?
