Bare foot?

The lead states that the foot drum is "typically played by striking it with the bare foot or pedal and beater combination," suggesting that drummers often play barefoot. I think the intent is to state that the foot drum is played using the foot either with or without a pedal, not to make a claim about shod vs unshod drumming habits (though some drummers do play barefoot).
