It's not clear what "brightness" means here. This looks like it should be a measure of luminance, but in that case the statement "The brightness of a reflecting surface in footlamberts is equal to the incident illumination in foot-candles times the reflectance of the surface." does not seem like it should be true. At least not for an arbitrary surface. It might be true for a surface with particular scattering properties. Footlamberts have dimensions cd/ft², while foot-candles have dimensions cd·sr/ft².--Srleffler 07:56, 12 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
