Hello fellow Wikipedians,

Need for a "Conservation action" section

[edit]

I'm surprised there is no coverage in this article of any of the past and present conservation plans and activities to protect the coral reef. Perhaps interested editors would consider developing this element? Nick Moyes (talk) 14:01, 6 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I am also quite surprised about this. 06etc (talk) 20:52, 22 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

My revert of recent edit

[edit]

I have reverted the edit by IP 50.200.63.98 for the following reasons: It is misleading to state that the Florida Reef extends along "mainland southeast Florida" as the reef ends off the northernmost Florida Keys, south of Key Biscayne. None of the names by which the reef is commonly known include "Coral". If any reliable sources do call it the "Florida Coral Reef", they need to be cited. What "offshore barrier reef" exists that requires us to say that the Florida Reef is the "only nearshore" barrier reef in the continental U.S.? Please cite reliable sources that say the Florida Reef extends to the St. Lucie Inlet. While isolated reefs occur along the coast north of the Florida Keys, they are generally not considered to be part of the Florida Reef. Donald Albury 15:51, 21 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
