Repeated removal of LGBT References

On the the article itself, I am absolutely sick to death of replacing the text which identifies Flaunt as an LGBT-targeted channel between July 2006 and February 2007. The fact is Flaunt did relaunch to target gay male audiences, and it retained that identity (Music with Pride) until early 2007, and is now just a general dance music channel. That has happened, whether someone likes it or not. Even though its lost its gay theme now, it is still an integral part of its broadcasting history which cannot simply be erased. I do however agree with the removal of LGBT categorising with this article since it now has a much wider audience. /Marbles 13:16, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Flaunttv.jpg

Image:Flaunttv.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. The result of the move request was: moved. Supporters highlighted the fact that "Flaunt (TV channel)" is the only article with "Flaunt" to its name, and that because Wikipedia isn't a dictionary, it is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC over the definition of the word "Flaunt". Flaunt (TV channel) → Flaunt – The current title is WP:OVERPRECISE. Flaunt is just a soft redirect to the Wiktionary page for the word "flaunt". Per WP:D2D, Disambiguation is required whenever, for a given word or phrase on which a reader might search, there is more than one existing English Wikipedia article to which that word or phrase might be expected to lead. There are a couple of articles for "Flaunt It", but no other articles for "Flaunt".  Bait30  ^{Talk 2 me pls?} 08:16, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

• Oppose - the dict def is the primary topic. As such, the soft redirect is more helpful to the average reader. Were this to be moved, there would need to be a hatnote or some such on the article to link to the Wiktionary entry. Folks looking for the non-TV info would be landing on the TV article and boosting its click count. If the current situation is deemed untenable, I would suggest rewriting the soft redirect to be a disambiguation page, with one ptopic link to Wiktionary, and one other link to the TV article. - UtherSRG (talk) 00:21, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

  Wikipedia isn't a dictionary and the definition isn't so common that I could see that it would benefit readers. There was a magazine deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Flaunt. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:51, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

• Strong support. The TV channel is the only encyclopedic topic named "Flaunt" and should live at the base name. Wikipedia is not a dictionary and a dictionary definition (or redirect) should only be the primary topic in exceptional circumstances. This is not that. Flaunt does not meet the standards at WP:SOFTSP and Template:Wiktionary redirect and should be deleted or, in this case, replaced with the appropriate encyclopedia article of the same name. The word is not commonly wikified—the only two uses of flaunt in articles are in references that both refer to Flaunt magazine. I have removed these links since the magazine's article was deleted (diffs:). I agree that the 'oppose' votes are indefensible—totally out of step with Wikipedia policy and practice. Pageviews are irrelevant when only one article or encyclopedic topic exists. But Flaunt has even lower pageviews! The Wiktionary redirect obscures searches for the TV channel and erroneously declares Wikipedia does not have an article on "flaunt". • Stronger support! I 100% agree with Myceteae's analysis. The Wiktionary soft redirect should absolutely be displaced by the article. (What I mean is that the redirect should completely deleted, not swapped.) The oppose !votes are indeed indefensible and have been countered with sufficient evidence, and therefore should be disregarded by the closer.
