To get to that sense of the word, you have to click through the hatnote ("For other uses, see Flange (disambiguation)") to the disambiguation page Flange (disambiguation), then click through the Wiktionary link there ("Look up flange in Wiktionary, the free dictionary") to arrive at the dictionary definition listing all senses of the word. This is the intentional pathway (no error here). Of course, you probably already knew that, and your comment here was simply intended to yank our flanges, figuratively speaking. to understand the rail transport history in detail. The various relevant articles lack graphics and illustrations of the geometries.

The last sentence of this section is incomplete

It gets lost in clauses and is practically not understandable. I do not know how to fix it.
