- In mathematics, the Fitting subgroup F of a finite group G, named after ABCDEF Fitting , is the maximal proper normal nilpotent subgroup of G.
The phrase beginning with "named after" should be added, with the correct value of ABCDEF. Not only is there the danger (humorous though it may seem, nonetheless real on Wikipedia) that someone will think it's a subgroup used in order to fit something, and change the F to lower-case (I haven't actually looked at Killing form but I'll do that next!), but also I know a math professor at MIT who said that on one occasion he was "outraged" that the eponym of a certain mathematical concept was not thus identified in its Wikipedia article (he logged in, using his real name, and I think that may be his only edit) (is this present sentence long enough?).
