Cited source does not support the "no clinical evidence" claim

The article states:

"Although fisetin has been under laboratory research over several decades for its potential role in senescence or anticancer properties, among other possible effects, there is no clinical evidence that it provides any benefit to human health, as of 2018."

This is cited to Yousefzadeh et al. (2018) in EBioMedicine: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ebiom.2018.09.015 (full text: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6197652/).

However, the cited paper actually demonstrates that fisetin has senotherapeutic activity in mice (including lifespan extension) and in human adipose tissue explants. It therefore does not support — and appears to contradict — the claim of "no clinical evidence" of benefit.

Removal of excessive conjecture from lab studies

This edit was justified to remove the excessive amount of over-interpretation and wild conjecture from laboratory research; see WP:MEDINVITRO and WP:NOTJOURNAL #6,7.

The most recent reference to fisetin being prepared for drug development appears to be this 2020 report, which shows no clinical research beyond preliminary studies. The report concludes (abstract): "it is too early for senolytics to be used outside of clinical trials", i.e., as of 2020 and still applying today, no "senolytic drugs" exist and clinical research progress appears to be slow or stalled.

There is no WP:MEDRS evidence that fisetin has anti-disease or health-promoting effects of any kind in humans. Zefr (talk) 19:57, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
