Merge (2023)

[edit]
Moved from Talk:Fifth finger
Fifth finger is a redirect to Little finger, and not relevant to this discussion.  HTGS (talk) 22:51, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

I propose that

be merged into List of fingers by ordinal, as these articles are named "ordinal finger", and are dictionary entries, instead of encyclopedia articles. Gathered into a list, they would be more encyclopedic. -- 67.70.25.175 (talk) 09:00, 30 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Should this be a set index, or possibly a full article, at something like Finger numbering? I guess a list works, but the format feels a little off. Will scan the list guidelines at some point to see where the proposal falls. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 03:31, 9 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Most of the content in these articles duplicate each other -- essentially four restatements of the idea that digits can be counted from the thumb = 1 or from index finger = 1.
Would be very happy for these to be merged. Finger numbering seems better than a list (feel that a list would simply be restating the same thing multiple times on a single page. Would also be happy for something more extreme like merging to Finger#Human fingers. Mgp28 (talk) 19:04, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
