The projected publication date was 2006

[edit]

The front flap of the hardcover edition (ISBN 978-0-593-18806-4) has "2006" in the lower-left corner. That's usually the date the cover was manufactured.

The Library of Congress record at https://lccn.loc.gov/2020013909 has "Projected pub date   2006"

There is a 14 year gap from the 2006 projected publication date to 2020 when Firing Point was published. On Tom Clancy bibliography I see that he was releasing books regularly up to 2003 but after that, it was always with co-authors, starting in 2010.

Unfortunately, I can't find an explanation by either the Tom Clancy side or the author, Mike Maden, on the development of this story beyond that he and his wife visited Spain. --Marc Kupper|talk 20:17, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
