[edit]"Pilipino" is not slang. It is the Filipino language spelling of the english language "Filipino". Confused? That's because there is no "F" in the past Filipino alphabet. "Pilipino" is widely used in Filipino language government speeches, official Filipino textbooks and publications.

Pilipino vs. Filipino
[edit]Philippines was named by Ruy Lopez de Villalobos "Filipinas"; "Philippines" was given by Americans upon territorial expansion. Letter "F" used to be missing in the original "Alpabetong Pilipino". And upon the Amendment of the Commonwealth Constitution, President Quezon added C, F, V, X, Z, to the revised "Alfabetong Filipino". Today, "Filipino" is accepted in english, and "Pilipino" if we are referring to the People in terms of our language. So don't fight over these two terms. - Strong oppose the language is not the primary topic, Filipinos, the people would be, or the adjective for the Philippines, but not the language. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS- just because Tagalog is treated in this manner, does not mean that the same case exists here. Every primary topic discussion is separate and different because the relationship between topics that share the same name is different in every instance. You have not provided any evidence that the language is the primary topic over WP:ADJECTIVE use for the Philippines, or the people. WP:NOTBURO Consistency does not make it a primary topic.
