Carmelo Filardi etc

I had put in a speculative statement that "Perhaps this was home of Carmelo Filardi, an artist and author of Corsican descent?" and a link to Corsican immigration to Puerto Rico#Corsican Landmarks in Yauco.

Another editor has mentioned: "As it is evident in the Census taken during 1910, Carmelo Filardi, my great granduncle came to Puerto Rico in the late 1990's as part of a family with 4 children. His Father was Vicente Filardi,and his mother Maria Cantisani. the couple had an additional four other children in Puerto Rico. The family came from a town called Lauria Superiore in Basilicata, Italy. people have confused his origin because of the great number of immigrants from Corsica." with reference to the Census.

Thanks for the information. I guess that Carmelo Filardi should not be mentioned in the Corsican immigration article then. But, should Carmelo Filardi be mentioned here in this Filardi House article? --doncram (talk) 05:27, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Carmelo Filardi was not of Corsican origin. The second commentator is correct, he was a descendant of the Filardi family from Lauria Superiore. I'm of the family so I know this - but I will find more documentation and follow up --unsigned statement by User:BackpackingAndy on 7 August 2020.
