Oh, you're the same person. It's fairly confusing when you have two names: Roxy the dog and Walter Ego. Also, your edit summary simply mirrored mine, which tells me nothing. I'm left to wonder "Is this snarkiness? Chaotic agreement with my point? The workings of a troll? (which is far from rare on WP)." Why don't you just write a clear, legitimate edit summary of your own? If you actually provided a quick argument, you might have simply convinced me right off the bat. So, I hope you can see there are now at least two ways how you've made dialogue here more obfuscating rather than clarifying.
Here's more detail on my motivations: the immediate prototypical associations we have with the word fiber are of natural fibers (twine, cotton, silk, etc.) rather than synthetic fibers, so I thought the primary image should reflect that. Regarding the current image of optical fibers. Why is this the best representation of fibers? Optical fiber isn't mentioned until halfway down the page. Certainly glass fibers are an important part of the global market but that is not obvious from the jump.
