The climate data shown for December does not make sense. The average high for December(26) is much higher than for November (21) or January (16). No, it was named after a famous aviator, Fethi Bey, killed in an air accident in 1914. Fethi, incidentally, means "conquest" in Turkish. 77.97.27.116 (talk) 10:52, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Greek alternative name

I approve in the discussion Talk:Lesbos#Turkish alternative name. Greek alternative name must be removed from the beginning. We can use it in the history section. Takabeg (talk) 08:35, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Fethiye was a predominantly Greek settlement until 1923. Unlike Lesbos which never had a significant Turkish community. See WP:NCGN and stop this petty vindictive nonsense. Athenean (talk) 08:39, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

greek-genocide.net a non-reliable source?

My question is: is the website greek-genocide.net a non-reliable source? Especially in the context I used: I used a link to that website to prove that the name "Macri" is/was used as the Greek name for Fethiye. Is it correct that an anonymous editor reverted my edit? A Turkish research and resource site about massacres against Turks is labelled "unreliable" by Wikipedia users, but for some reason similar greek site is "reliable". Why? This greek site exaggerates the number of greek deaths and is clearly hostile towards Turks, and distorts historical facts. But for some reason Wikipedia users claim that this is reliable, but say that a similar Turkish source is unreliable. I wonder why? Or are you receiving funding from the greek regime? Maybe u europeans must focus on dictator putin and his murderous invader army before it's too late, and stop this anti-Turkish propaganda. And no, our mighty army will not help you when Putin comes to border of EU after Ukraine. No USA help. No Turkish help. A few minutes ago I read the "very ultimately extremely super reliable" greek source you added, and no it's not reliable nor neutral. It's entirely written with greek POV and also most of the things written there is without sources or reliable citations. If I put a similar Turkish website as a source, you guys would immediately delete it, but for some reason you guys insist this site is 'reliable'. Also, there were already enough sources about this town's old historic name, why you added another one? @Beshogur@Aintabli do you think "greek genocide.net" is a reliable source? They insist that it is a reliable source despite written with entirely greek POV and exaggerates number of dead greeks. A few years ago I tried to add a source , which was about massacres against Turks by greeks, it was a resource and research site about massacres against Turks and Wikipedia users immediately deleted it claimed it was not neutral and reliable, but they now insist similar greek website is totally "reliable" and "neutral" despite it is clearly written with greek POV. 188.119.21.49 (talk) 14:38, 3 July 2025 (UTC)
