Conflict of interest?

[edit]

If the main contributer to this article and the creator of PetPlanLogo is the same person (as suggested by the original edit summary in the file history and licensing template of the image), there appears to be a conflict of interest. --Evb-wiki (talk) 19:17, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Name change

[edit]

How do I change the name? It is called Fetch Pet Insurance since this year. AlexandriaC2023 (talk) 20:06, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@AlexandriaC2023:, just a few things. Regarding the name change, I found some references saying "Fetch," some saying "Fetch by the Dodo," and some saying "Fetch Pet Insurance." I will take a closer look and move the page if appropriate. Second, if you are the editor making this edit, then it is always good to provide a reliable source when doing so. Finally, I would ask that you read WP:COI and WP:PAID and make the appropriate disclosure if applicable. If those guidelines apply to you, that is fine as you did the right thing by making the request here; however, a disclosure would still be required. --CNMall41 (talk) 23:27, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Adding criticism or controversy page?

Request to add “Controversy” or “Criticism” section: Coverage downgrades after claims

Hi all, I’d like to propose the addition of a “Criticism” or “Controversy” section to this article regarding Fetch Pet Insurance’s practice of reducing reimbursement rates after large claims, particularly for pets with chronic conditions.

There are growing reports from customers on platforms like ConsumerAffairs, Reddit, and the Better Business Bureau that Fetch has reduced reimbursement rates to 60% or 50% at renewal after significant claims. These percentages are lower than the standard options (70%, 80%, or 90%) offered to new customers. In many cases, pet owners are not offered the opportunity to restore their original level of coverage, even with a higher premium.

A 2023 article in The Canine Review provides additional context. It includes a statement from Fetch CEO Paul Guyardo, who explained that reducing reimbursement or increasing deductibles is a strategy used on high-claim customers instead of canceling their policy. He described it as a way to preserve their “Covered for Life” promise while shifting more costs to the pet owner.

Given that Fetch has long marketed itself as offering comprehensive, claim-neutral coverage for chronic conditions, I think it’s appropriate to document this controversy neutrally using reliable sources.

Happy to help with drafting if others agree it’s warranted. Akstovio (talk) 22:02, 19 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
