A Turkish name? It is clearly Kurdish, occuring in all Kurdish regions regardless of the country. It was adopted by the Turks just like other Kurdish names (Helin, Diyar, Serhat, etc). If it were adopted from the Persian, the name would still be written and pronounced Farhat or Farhot or something. Besides, one should remove the refernce to the Persian name because 1. Ferhat is clearly a Kurdish name which the Turks adopted, and 2. it is a Kurdish name on its own (just the Kurdish version of the Persian Farhad, but why should one make the refernce to the Persian word here when there is no reference of to the Kurdish word on the Persian word affiliated pages?). --77.10.168.102 (talk) 14:03, 5 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
