Make article less technical so that non-fencers can understand: suggest cleaning up foil, epee, and sabre sections by moving reference to electronics to a more technical section.
Eliminate occasional POV that creeps in between the weapons "Saber is better", etc...
Use care with POV regarding fencing styles -- Possibly another reason to make article less technical.
Possibly create section on changes in the sport.

Photos by a qualified professional are desperately needed to describe all the various terms of fencing.
As the majority of this article focuses on sport fencing, points, and rules, it would be interesting to have a seperate section developed about non-sport, combat fencing, techniques, and history.
Clean up redundancies. The "Competitive Fencing: Olympic Fencing" is largely not about Olympic Fencing, but about local competitions and NACs. The information about tournament structure is redundant with the section further down on "Practice and Techniques: Competition Formats," which is logically the right place to have that information.
