Fenchol is also a scent from basil.

Have researched this claim and find various hints of its relibabily, but nothing concrete. Any info would me much appreciated Cheers! RichardMills65 (talk) 20:38, 2 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. The text now says that "Fenchol gives basil its characteristic scent", which implies that it's the primary flavor of basil(s), which I doubt, although it may be an important component.
