[edit]I'm not sure if this is the most formal use of the talk page, but I plan on working on this draft, so please don't delete it. Gaming gamer 9001 (talk) 13:46, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Don't worry, this draft is not being considered for deletion. Drafting an article is recommended when the topic is not notable yet. ObserveOwl (talk) 13:55, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- (However, the draft can be deleted under G13 if abandoned for 6 months. If that happens, you can request undeletion of the draft.) ObserveOwl (talk) 14:08, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Capitalization
[edit]@LaffyTaffer: "femtanyl" appears consistently uncapitalized in the Pitchfork and HotNewHipHop sources. There's precedent to using common lowercase artist names, like will.i.am and k.d. lang. ObserveOwl (talk) 17:07, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- I stand corrected, thanks for the info :) Taffer😊💬(she/they) 17:08, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- What about Deadmau5? Viva la horde, ~ GoatLordServant(Talk) 17:45, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- The sources on the Deadmau5 page seem to capitalize it, so that is different. That said, the Billboard source published after my comment uses "Femtanyl". Considering the low amount of sources on this article, I wouldn't say the sources are consistent with the lowercase capitalization anymore, so the default "Femtanyl" is used. ObserveOwl (talk) 18:06, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- I think our MOS:TM rule has taken precidence no matter the sources, however. I'm making moves and if anyone touches my more recent edits I'm going to figure out how to start an RFC, because the rules as they are seem very prone to 'edge cases' like jschlatt. Viva la horde, ~ GoatLordServant(Talk) 18:08, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- MOS:BIOEXCEPT mentions use in reliable sources. Not sure whether MOS:BIO or MOS:TM is more applicable for an article about a duo, however. ObserveOwl (talk) 18:18, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- I just think a whole clarification about BLP name capitalization is in order. As it stands, the rules are inconsistent from any view. Some that consensus dictated be uppercase were D4vd, Deadmau5, and of course, this article. In contrast, Will.i.am lasted lowercase for a long time, and names like jschlatt and dril as well as full names like danah boyd, k.d. lang, and john a. powell are permitted the distinctive lowercasing. A consistent overarching policy for treating these names would be pretty helpful. Editors could easier determine if the sourcing makes not only individual biographies, but also groups, warrant decapitalization, all under one umbrella by hopefully broadening the rule to both groups and people. I find that these listed cases aren't exactly brand names either, considering others and themselves dynamically refer to themselves as that name. Viva la horde, ~ GoatLordServant(Talk) 12:23, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

Notability
[edit]@Yungpootiejvvice pinging you here rather than continuing the discussion on your talk page. You've done a great job expanding on the article and finding sources so far, however the sources you're adding are primary sources, which don't contribute to femtanyl's notability. Ideally there's more references to reliable secondary sources, since that's what's going to display a subject's notability.
The reliance on primary sources appears to be the reason for the draft being declined in the past, and you seem pretty good at finding sources for the claims you're adding. While you're working, you should try to find some more secondary sources talking about femtanyl in depth. More stuff like the cited Pitchfork article are ideal (though even that was called a strong maybe
) Taffer😊💬(she/they) 20:24, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- I once nominated an article about her for deletion, in case that's relevant - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Femtanyl. Looking at Google News and the WP:A/S search engine, it doesn't seem like there has been new secondary coverage, but I could be wrong. ObserveOwl (talk) 20:32, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- I've also noticed that the editor I pinged apparently has a conflict of interest as noted at Draft:CHASER (EP). That does give me a bit less confidence about the draft getting accepted despite all the changes since the last decline, though I remain hopeful.
- I'm unfortunately not good at adding sources or I'd try myself, but I believe you saying that secondary sources are lacking, that seems to be a common occurrence with niche artists with cult fanbases like this (maybe one day Sewerslvt/Cynthoni will get some notable coverage T_T) Taffer😊💬(she/they) 20:58, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- working on it though she unfortunately doesnt get much coverage Yungpootiejvvice (talk) 21:05, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Yungpootiejvvice: While looking for secondary sources, you should verify whether they are reliable by checking the source list at WP:A/S, for example. Genius.com profiles are user-generated, and Album of the Year is unreliable according to the list, so they don't count for notability and should generally not be cited. ObserveOwl (talk) 16:18, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- looking desperately for any kind of secondary sources but she gets like zero media coverage so its a bit hard trying to find good sources, will try my hardest to Yungpootiejvvice (talk) 16:25, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- If that's the case, then the unfortunate fact is that she might not notable by Wikipedia standards. Coverage by reliable independent sources is crucial for any article. Taffer😊💬(she/they) 16:32, 9 April 2025 (UTC)

- the only realistic thing I can think of is creating separate pages for some of her more famous tracks such as m3 n min3 or Katamari but if those two don't work we'll just have to wait Yungpootiejvvice (talk) 01:58, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

Femtanyl Discussed in new Billboard Article
[edit]Billboard's new genre now article Has a section pretty extensively discussing femtanyl's history/influences, as well as Mansbridge's new collaborator Juno Callendar who the draft doesn't currently discuss. The article should work as a secondary source that shows femtanyl's notability :D Pothos144 (talk) 23:42, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! I’m just in here to say that the billboard article misspells Junos last name as Callendar but it is actually spelled Callender, she is my roommate but if you need more than my say-so she also mentions the correct spelling in a tweet she made earlier today so please don't reverse my edit on the femtanyl page! The article was, as far as I can understand, moved into mainspace on 29 January, so should be new enough. Long enough, and the style is neutral. The hooks are OK, and supported by inline citation that what appears to me to be reasonably trustworthy sources within their niche. QPQ done, no image. This should be good to go. It was an interesting dive into a topic I know very little about. Yakikaki (talk) 20:40, 30 January 2026 (UTC)

Mansbridge/Stockwood
[edit]@ArtemisiaGentileschiFan Looking at the bandcamp link shared in @Krisvers and @SPLITTERBOY's edit summaries, it does appear to support that Noelle changed her name recently. From a very quick search, I wasn't able to find any other non-WP:USERG sourcing on it, but this does appear to be the band's official bandcamp page, so I'm inclined to go with this most recent name(possibly with an efn or just adding the extra cite as we did with the spelling of Juno Callender ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 03:44, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- I don't think a primary source is enough to change it, but if you disagree then feel free to go ahead. I think I'm outnumbered here anyways and I don't mind much either way. ArtemisiaGentileschiFan (talk) 04:23, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- I think WP:BLPSELFPUB probably applies, so a primary source should be alright to use, but what's been provided strikes me as insufficient. I'd rather we wait on getting some stronger sourcing than the name being mentioned in passing in the credits, ideally something like Callender's tweet explicitly clarifying the discrepancy. So I'm going to hold off on making the change mysefl.(I'd also be WP:EUI at the moment, which I'd rather avoid) ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 04:34, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

Girl hell 1999 bye2 remix
[edit]Hello, as I am new to editing wikipedia, I do not know how to properly format discographies. However, it seems that Girl hell 1999 (bye2 remix) shouldn't be included in the discography as it is a remix not made by femtanyl. Please correct me if I'm in the wrong here. ~2026-10151-93 (talk) 07:41, 15 February 2026 (UTC)
Why puppyplay?
[edit]I just feel like it's a bit random and obscure when it comes to femts work, also it's a collaboration and I believe it would be more fitting to put a non collaborative track for this article. Twiqer (talk) 00:26, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- nevermind, I didn't realize that the audio was removed, apologies Twiqer (talk) 00:27, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Since most content online is copyrighted, Wikipedia isn't able to use it. Puppyplay was licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, which means Wikipedia(or anyone else) is free to share or transform it (and there's currently a deletion discussion on Commons, our sister site, about whether they were allowed to license the song that way)
- WP:Image use policy obviously covers images, but a lot of it also applies to other media. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 00:43, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- @LaffyTaffer that makes complete sense, thank you for the clarification! Twiqer (talk) 00:44, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Higher quaility picture?
[edit]Maybe this is due to sone copyrights law, but the picture used seems prettty loq quality and, honestly, rather unflattering. ~2026-15894-10 (talk) 06:24, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Correct, its a copyright issue. I asked for help from Juno's roommate a while ago regarding getting the band to release something better quality of both of them, but it doesnt look like much came from that ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 11:18, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Should we add Femtanyl's old song, "POCKETS!"?
[edit]I've done some digging after listening to the song a few times and searching some things, and to me it seems that LilyNiku is an old user for femtanyl... so should we add the one song from there?
I'm asking because I don't like to make changes without people being like "yea, that's fine". I have most of this info from Spotify (and some other places), and the song is here: https://open.spotify.com/album/1FpE5YF2GFMuQ9z4KSn7mR?si=a1a947631c6e4bbc If you look at the credits, it says Noelle's name. I've seen around that this is true and all that, I just don't want to add it and then feel stupid when it gets taken off for any reason I missed.
Thanks, HaloEevee (talk) 16:32, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- Is there any reliable sourcing linking the two projects? From the album art it's pretty obviously her, but a cursory search online didn't easily turn up anything that isn't WP:UGC. Also I can't see where you're seeing her credited as Noelle, and that might still brush up against WP:SYNTH.
- I think if we can get some adequate sourcing noting that she started out releasing as LilyNiku, it could probably warrant mention in the article body, but I'd be reluctant to add that work to discography since it's technically a separate project from femtanyl. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 16:40, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- If you go to the link, and click the three dots that appear on the right side of the screen (next to the Add to liked songs button), then click "View Credits", it should appear there. HaloEevee (talk) 16:45, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- Click the three dots that appear when you hover on the song
- sorry, HaloEevee (talk) 16:45, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, looks like my browser just doesn't play nice with Spotify, was just displaying -'s for all the credits. Checked on my phone and it's indeed there.
- I still worry about WP:SYNTH since it doesn't explicitly state that this is the same Noelle Mansbridge of femtanyl, but I wouldn't personally revert on those grounds because what could possibly be the odds that it's not? I still think adding a sentence to the beginning of Career as opposed to adding to their discography would be more appropriate though (and ideally with a better source) ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 16:53, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- And that's where I'm at with it. I didn't really know what to do for the song, so I said something. To be honest it's on the table if you can find anything, I gotta go to class now- school is important and all that. HaloEevee (talk) 16:55, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- Sitting on it for a little longer, I've gone ahead and added it myself per WP:SKYBLUE, my concerns about SYNTH aside. However I don't oppose it being reverted for those concerns. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 17:05, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- Just saw the edit, cool stuff! Only question as a newbie on editing is should the song be put into the singles section or not since it's technically not a femtanyl song? HaloEevee (talk) 17:32, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- Like I noted earlier, it's a different project, so I wouldn't note it outside of a dedicated article about just Noelle, especially since LilyNiku apparently had a somewhat extensive discography when it was active. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 17:35, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
