Addressing Notability and Significant Coverage (WP:ORG)
[edit]I am addressing the maintenance tag regarding "no significant coverage." I believe felte meets the criteria for notability under WP:GNG and WP:MUSICORG (specifically the "important independent labels" clause) based on the following independent, secondary sources that provide depth beyond mere passing mentions:
1. Significant In-Depth Coverage (The Subject is the Label) The following sources treat the label as the primary subject:
REDEFINE Magazine: The feature "felte Records Label Feature: A Balance of Give & Take" is a comprehensive profile of the label's history, its aesthetic transition from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, and its specific art direction. This satisfies the requirement for "significant coverage" that is not a passing mention.
Rebel Noise: The interview "Ceaseless Evolvement: An Interview with Jeff Owens of Felte Records" provides essential biographical and operational context, linking the founder’s background at the notable Ghostly International to the founding and distribution of felte.
2. Industry and Cultural Impact:
The label has been identified by secondary sources as a key curator of the modern post-punk and darkwave revival: BBC Radio 6 Music: The label’s curation was explicitly recognized when pôt-pot’s Warsaw 480km was named an Album of the Year (2025) indicating the label's "imprimatur" of quality—a key factor in WP:MUSICORG.
Notable Roster: The label has been the primary vehicle for several independently notable artists with their own Wikipedia entries, that I have linked to this page. Further there are bands that have received significant coverage on this label that have not got Wikipedia pages yet. Per WP:BAND, a label that has a history of more than a few years and a roster of multiple notable performers is presumed to have the necessary sourcing for an article.
3. Independence All cited sources are secondary and entirely independent of Jeff Owens or felte. I am simply a fan of the labels output and trying to collate the coverage on Wikipedia. Strawberrybattles (talk) 10:04, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
