Region vs province

[edit]

@Aintabli: the cited Encyclopaedia of Islam and Iranica entries explicitly use the word "province" throughout, and not "region".- - LouisAragon (talk) 11:38, 4 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

You can change it back then. I am not sure about “province”, though. They might be using it, but would it be in the modern sense? In either case, isn’t a province a region after all? We can also leave it as “Fars province” but link to Persis. Aintabli (talk) 13:38, 4 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will use province as thats what the sources use, but will remove the link to Fars Province. As far as I know, the words region and province are usually not the same. Persis doesn't include any info on Fars' Islamic period. - LouisAragon (talk) 12:55, 18 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
