I removed the video game paragraph and put the salient points after the various video game abbreviations. As it was, it seemed off-topic and overly long. A5 01:59, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Why isn't fortissimo under heading Music?

[edit]

It isn't a fact in every "theory"; it has meaning only in music, and it's entirely about performance, being an instruction from the composer to the instrumentalist who is playing the instrument for an audience (or a recording; but then the sound engineers have volume controls nowadays...). And it's part of notation; but it isn't music theory. Music theory is about such subjects as tonalism, for example, the mathematics behind the change from Pythagorean interval derivation of frequencies to the well-tempered keyboard, with its semitone multiplier that is the twelfth root of 2 — all that stuff. But even that is still music more than it is just "theory" (with no categorization as musical theory) is in the heading this has been put under! Iph (talk) 16:13, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
