[edit]AFAIK extraordinary appeals also exist in Japan and South Korea; actually the criminal procedure of Taiwan is mostly inspired by that of Japan, but I don't know about these two jurisdictions. Also in the Chinese version of this article, it stated that extraordinary appeal was inspired by similar procedures in the 1791 French Constitution, later article 620 and 621 of the French Criminal Procedure 1959, but I cannot find any reference, so if anyone knows about these jurisdictions, you're more then welcome to add it to the page.
