Proofs

[edit]

I have had an e-mail complaining that I deleted a so-called proof. Simple proofs are against Wikipedia standards, see WP:NOTTEXTBOOK, although in special cases some are allowed according to WP:MOSMATH. The latter exceptions do not appply here. The supposed proof was of something so simple as not to be needed. The fact that some published paper might refer to Wikipedia for a proof is just plain stupid, as the rules of Wikipedia are clear: WP:OR says no original research can be included in Wikipedia, and that all original research should be deleted.
