Disagree that Extended Enterprises are self-organizing: A central enterprise purposefully partners or teams with a core group of other firms (e.g. Lockheed Martin with Northrup Grumman and BAE on JSF) and/or creates a network of preferred suppliers who share exclusive information with the central enterprise;
Extended Enterprises are different and much more than supply chains or value chains (hence the special term). (Davis, Edward W., and Robert E. Spekman.
