Propose removing subsection re subsidence

The Exner equation relates only to sediment flux continuity, sediment mass, and bed elevation: it has nothing intrinsically to do with base-level changes or tectonics.

This subsection and its modified Exner equation confuses the fixed, internal reference frame of the channel with an external, possibly changing frame. Bed elevation could be expressed in the external frame, but this is a choice that has no intrinsic relevance to the Exner equation itself.

So I propose to remove "Including external changes in elevation", simplifying this page. cstark (talk) 12:30, 11 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
